Service recordings
Goring Free Church records all its services and publishes the messages online each week. Recordings of other parts of the services are available on request, such as children’s talks or talks by visiting mission partners, or special services such as a thanksgiving.
Messages on the website
The messages on the website comprise all recorded since 2007. They are organised into series. There is always a regular morning and evening series, and a Visiting Preachers and Other Occasions series for each year. All four are shown on the podcast page. There is also an overall series archive page.
Each message also has links to other messages on the same Bible book or from the same preacher. It also has a link to the online text for the Bible passage on BibleGateway.
Searching messages by Bible text
Thes search box (in the sidebar to the right of most pages) applies to content across the whole site. It can also be used to search for messages by Bible text. However if searching for a particular book and chapter these need to be enclosed in quotes e.g. “John 8” otherwise the search will also return preachers etc with the name John.
RSS feed
Some modern desktop browsers do not offer built-in formatting any more: examples are Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Users will need to download an app or an extension of their choice. In Chrome just type “chrome:extensions”, scroll down to “Get more extensions” and search for “RSS”. Mircrosoft Edge also supports viewing RSS feeds in Internet Explorer by clicking on the three dots in the top right hand corner and choosing this option.
Photos
Photos are taken at many church events including King’s Club and there are usually displays of the photo prints for various activities inside the church and hall. All of these are on display when the church is open during the Christmas Shopping Evening. Occasionally a slideshow of a particular event is shown in the church on the screen during the period before a service begins. A slideshow of King’s Club is also published online, subject to permission obtained at the start of the event.
