Left to right: Matt, Henry and Nigel
Matt Cordle
Matt has been part of Goring Free Church since 1994, having moved to the area for his first job after university. It wasn’t until a youth leader’s talk at the age of 13 that he realised being brought up in a Christian family wasn’t enough, he needed to personally accept Jesus’ gift of love and forgiveness.
He is married to Ruth and they have three children: twin girls and a boy. With a huge passion for music, he accompanies sung worship on the organ and piano, and works in Corporate conference and video production for a living.
Henry Fay
Henry moved to Goring in 2006 and has served as an elder at Goring Free Church since 2009. He came to faith gradually during childhood, after his parents (to their surprise!) both became Christians at the same time. For many years prior to arriving at this church he worshipped in Anglican churches.
For much of his time in Goring he has been a local GP, but he has now retired from this due to a disability following a sudden illness. He is married to Jenny and they have two young children.
Nigel Gordon-Potts
Nigel became the Pastor at Goring Free Church in 2004, having studied theology at Moorlands College. Before his studies he had worked in the world of accountancy, both in practice here in the UK and training others in West Africa through Tearfund, having come to faith himself as a teenager.
He is married to Yvette, who is also very involved within the life of this church, and they have brought up their four sons during their time in the community.
