King’s Club 2017 – Mega Makers
During the week July 24th – July 28th we held our annual children’s holiday club, King’s Club. “Mega Makers” saw the children learn about how God’s love just gets bigger and bigger! This was mirrored through the “Mega Machine” which transformed small objects into bigger versions – scroll to the bottom of the page to see a video of the machine in action! The stories we followed were taken from Matthew’s Gospel and included looking at some of the miracles Jesus performed, finishing on Friday with a celebration as we looked at how Jesus came back to life!
70+ children, aged 4 to 11, attended each day and enjoyed singing, playing games, making crafts, being entertained by the drama team & puppet shows and generally having lots of fun!! On the Friday afternoon at 4pm a short presentation was made to the parents of the week’s highlights, including the children demonstrating some songs and the drama group and puppets making a guest appearance once again. This was followed by a barbecue and we were so thankful that the rain stopped for us to enjoy the food outside in the Rectory Gardens and for the children to play safely on the inflatables.
We ended the week with a family service on the Sunday morning where the children (and adults!) experienced key aspects of the week for the very last time. A huge thank you has to go to everybody who was involved, as a fun time was had by all, adults and children alike!
Please view the slideshow highlights video below, which provides an overview of the week and includes many photos. If you attended, see if you can spot yourself there!
